J&S were having trip to Hong Kong the same time as I was in Ipoh. I was supposed to tag along cuz I always wanted to go to Hong Kong since secondary school... but my cousin sis' wedding was scheduled on the next day they departed.
While they were enjoying the delicacies in Hong Kong, I was enjoying the specialties in Ipoh. Their famous chicken bean sprout ("nga choy kai") and white coffee. Argh, I couldn't imagine if we can even live a second without FOOOOOOD since our life revolves around food and food and more food :/
S bought me a belt that goes well with my dress with legging. And I do need to pamper my face with masks, judging on the frequency of day and night outings for this week and my last week here in KL. Thanks girl!
J knows how much I LOVE food, so she bought me those specialties from Hong Kong, ranging from bakery to meat jerky to sausages.
What is Hong Kong without its "
lou poh beng"? *slurp* According to J, she got them HOT n FRESH from a bakery shop, and that they can only be kept for a week. No preservatives. J's mom doesn't quite like it because of the tasteless filling. I think, S feels the same as well.
I, on the other hand, love it load because they taste exactly like the ones I bought from Dallas Chinatown, except much fresher.
Pa n
Ma like it as well. I can't remember how exactly the Malaysian version "
lou poh beng" tastes like. Saltier? Stronger aroma? Hmm...
But, I love it love it love it! :)
I was fortunate to be able to get a taste of a piece (out of 6) of "
lou poh beng" on one fine evening before I was away for another night outing. I was actually looking for one this morning, and the red box is completely missing from the table @.@
