My every Sundays weekly message (newsletter) from Steven Lane Taylor, an author of, Row, Row, Row Your Boat: A Guide for Living Life in the Divine Flow.
==========
Dear Friends,
I'm sure you're well aware that you rarely---if ever---get anywhere in life completely on your own. Usually, reaching your chosen destinations in life requires the participation, cooperation, and support of others. This is especially true when you are in a very close relationship with another person---a spouse, a partner, or a family member, for example.
When your choices immediately and directly affect someone else, it may feel as if you and that other person are literally "in the same boat"---that you are both in the same "Relation Ship," so to speak. That's when rowing your boat in harmony with each other becomes of paramount importance.
The question is, how do you both "row with the flow" when the two of you do not immediately agree on a goal, or do not agree on the next right step for reaching a goal? That particular question is one that I often get asked. And here is my answer:
For a couple to stay in the flow---or even for a close-knit group to move forward in a mutually beneficial way---it is helpful when each person in that relationship is willing to do four things:
As most of you know, I have been in a close relationship with my loving partner, Carol, for many years now. Our daily life together has always felt like it was "in the flow." But does that mean that on a day-to-day basis we always instantly agree on every single step we are considering taking? No.
There are plenty of days when we try to point "our boat" in completely different directions. But when that happens, we take the time to slow down and listen to our hearts. We pause, and sense how alternative options "feel." In other words, we focus our attention on our inner wisdom---our intuition.
When we do that, one of two things usually occurs: One of us will let go of his or her plan because it becomes apparent that it was just an ego-driven impulse, and not a true desire of the heart. Or, one of us will be divinely inspired with a completely new and different idea---one that is not only mutually beneficial, but one that also "feels right" to both of us.
The beauty of intuitive guidance is that it always benefits all parties. And why does it? Because the ultimate source of your intuitive guidance is the One Spirit that unites us all---that creative, loving, divine energy that we are all expressions of . . . resulting in the kind of guidance that is always in the best interests of everyone.
So, are you in the kind of relationship with another person---or a group of people---where mutual support and cooperation is necessary to get where you want to go? Then remember to treat everyone involved with loving kindness, and take the time to listen to your heart. You will be amazed at how people with diverse needs, ideas, dreams, and desires can all come together and be part of one mutually fulfilling flow . . . an effortless flow . . . a flow that is nothing less than divine.

Take the time to attune himself or herself to his or her inner guidance.
Have the patience to wait for that inner guidance to unfold for everyone involved.
Practice loving kindness so everyone feels safe enough to express their thoughts and feelings during the process.
And most of all, let go of what he or she originally thought was best.

November 11th, 2009 marks my first month here in KL. What have I been doing thus far?
By the way, I came across a blog related to relationship, and it does help me in seeing things in another perspective. I had an entry for this particular article of Evan the other day on "Passion Vs. Comfort: Do You Have to Have Fireworks to Have a Successful Relationship?", and I have been reading his blog for two days straight. Check it out if you are interested.
YY and I were discussing over some of the topics posted on his blog. Topics like "Why Don't Men Like Smart, Strong and Successful Women?" got us thinking. Society has undeniably changed; the sociostatus of females and males has come to the borderline equal, but the ego of men has been sitting still for generations. Unchangeable. Why is it hard for guys to put down their ego? The answer to it remains debatable. That's no doubt about it. But Evan helps me in seeing things from guys' perspective. At least I have a slightly, if not totally, better understanding on guys.
YY and I are looking for a relationship FEMALE coach to understand the similar situation from a feminine side. It goes both ways, you know! So, if you get to know any, please do let us know ;)
- Lunar birthday celebration with family members (minus er mei) for the 1st time in decade
- Attending 5th uncle's 60th birthday
- Surprise belated birthday celebration with J&S at Bubba Gump
- Surprise visit from CM and YY for yumcha at Feelings Cafe
- Gathered with some ex-schoolmates, ONLY once so far at PappaRich
- Hanging out with dear friends, mostly on weekends
- Surfing net on weekdays
- Drove for the first time since I was back to Sunway Pyramid
- Mostly carpooling to anywhere in KL & PJ area
- Checking off items from to-do list, which unfortunately is not all mine
- Still figuring out my to-do list
- Eat, eat and eat
- Eat, eat and eat
- Eat, eat and eat

Seventh month is fast approaching. The house in Dallas is still put under a huge interrogation point on how the property should be managed, whether or not it should be sold, or rented out. The best solution is yet to be determined. With the global economy slowdown, it is best advised to not put the house on the market.

So, that left the options of renting out the property. With that said, Real Property Management (RPM) Midwest is the best company to deal with all the rental matter. Not only that they has received "Franchise of the Year, Honorable Mention" award, they are the fastest growing property management company in the country.
The company handles basically all the renting issues on behalf of the homeowners. This allows the homeowners to focus less on managing their properties, but more on the other things in life. The property management professionals handle resident placement and conduct a full credit and multi-state criminal background screening of each tenants to assure the best tenants possible.
Besides, RPM Midwest uses its own house maintenance services to provide quality and timely maintenance for the property. By having regular thorough property inspections, thrice per year, this helps the property management insure lease compliance and also ensure that the tenants are taking care of the property.
On top of that, the property management professional deals with collecting rents or evicting tenants. Homeowners will be able to view monthly financial reporting of their property that is available online 24/7.

Parents, xiao mei and I went shopping at The Gardens & MidValley last Friday afternoon. Initially, three of us were expecting a ladies' outing, but when pa eavesdropped our conversation, he volunteered to be our chauffeur. I could feel the sudden change in ma and xiao mei's expressions because we all know how hard it was going to be for us to shop around when pa's around. But, we couldn't reject his good deed, could we?
Once we reached The Gardens with the main intention to Bossini to redeem pa's vouchers that were given by one of his credit card's companies, I bumped into this particular bakery shop. I shrieked. Silently in my mind. Just to avoid freaking out my family :/
I read her blog around early this year. She is the type of person who goes against all odds to achieve her dream. After having a degree in Construction Management from Aussie, she went to Orlando, Florida, to pursue her true passion in pastry arts. She then returned to Malaysia with full determination to begin her new life as an entrepreneur. With months and months of plannings and with the supports from family and friends, she eventually opens her own specialist cake shop at The Gardens.
Delectable is the name chosen for her shop. Su is what she goes by. The first time when I came across her blog, I had a moment of jaw-dropping seeing her talents in baking and sugar sculpting.
Anyway, I didn't get to meet her in person that day, but I left her words on her message book that actually works like a fan-club book. All in all, I was the only one who got so excited seeing Delectable for the first time in my life. I bet pa, ma and xiao mei must be thinking I was going nut for giving such a huge reaction seeing a cupcake store.

Scenario A: It is Sunday, the family day you have been waiting for. Instead of going to the usual restaurants for lunch and dinner, you are thinking of exploring new places in the city. But, you have no single idea of where to head to.
Scenario B: You had few pieces of Greek-style stuffed mushrooms at a potluck party, and you were amazed by how the stuffed mushrooms were wonderfully prepared and done. You thought of making this appetizer to your family over the next weekend, but of all the recipes you have searched and tried, the stuffed mushrooms did not come close to the ones you had at the potluck party.
Have you been put into either one or both of the situations before? Aren't you frustrated spending time in the Internet searching for the well-rated restaurants or the recipes of your favorite dishes?

FoodConnect.com is your answer to your frustration. This Canada-based company is the world's only fully interactive website for foodies. It is a one-stop for all the foodies to search for restaurants located in Canada and United States. It is also where foodies are able to review and rate restaurants they have been to that subsequently give the opportunity for future patrons to learn about the particular restaurants.
At Food Connect, there is a section for featured restaurants available in the particular city. I wish I get to know this website much earlier when I first moved to Jacksonville, FL. When I made a search for restaurants in the city, I realized there are plenty of restaurants that are worth trying.
Anyway, once you click on the link of the restaurant, you will be able to find a much detailed information of that particular restaurant, showing the picture of restaurant, address, phone number, and map, plus the reviews and ratings from previous patrons, which are accessible to public.

To those foodies who love cooking, there will be a recipe section, ranging from desserts of Bailey's Cheesecake to Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti to main dishes of Pork Chops stuffed with Pecans and Blue Cheese to Grilled Tuna with Green Peppercorn Sauce. To those who are more health cautious, there will be information regarding nutritional value and calories for each dishes. Information such as cooking and prepping time, and ratings from those who have tried the recipes before are available as well.
On top of all these, there are sections for foodies to learn about featured recipes and cookbooks as well as featured articles that are published daily. If you like reviewing restaurants you have been to, or if you love sharing recipes with public, all you need to do is to be a member of Food Connect. Registration is free. Check out their website at http://www.foodconnect.com/ for a more detailed information.
